After a decade in secondary education in both private and public education, Mike and his wife Tonia spent five years caretaking and work trading in the Hawaiian and San Juan Islands with their children, Zalee and Finean. With no intention of returning to the classroom, when Mike and Tonia’s last caretaking job came to an end, somewhat synchronistically, a job opened up at Spring Street. After thirteen years of teaching at Spring Street, Mike still finds himself challenged and invigorated by the community and looking forward to the next school year.
