“Do you know how love should be begun?” The boy sat small and listening and still. Slowly he shook his head. The old man leaned in and whispered: “A tree. A rock. A cloud.”
-Carson McCullers, A Tree, A Rock, A Cloud

Ariel March Williams is an artist and educator. Ariel received their BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago and MA in Art Education from Ohio State University, and has worked as an art educator in museums, non-profits, and public and independent schools since 2014. Ariel’s drawing-based and conceptual artistic practice utilizes drawing as a method of self-exploration and discovery. Both Ariel’s pedagogy and studio process center visual art practices as tools for building observational skills, curiosity, and the capacity for perspective-taking, which Ariel believes is the foundation for a more conscious world. When they are not teaching or drawing, Ariel practices yoga and dance, enjoys steep hikes and urban exploration, collects natural detritus, and loves to drink good coffee with their cat, Doppel, close by.
