This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one, the being a force of nature, instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.  -George Bernard Shaw

Angela joined the Spring Street faculty and leadership team in early 2022, serving as Director of Marketing, Communications, and Development, before stepping in to the role of Interim Head of School in Spring 2025. During the summer of 2025, Angela joined a cohort of new heads of school from across the country to participate in the NAIS Institute for New Heads.

Angela has worked in schools for 25 years, and has been recognized with a Gold Brilliance Award for outstanding school marketing by InspirED School Marketers. As a yearbook publishing consultant and workshop director for 17 years, she taught graphic design, journalism, marketing, and leadership to high school and middle school students in schools throughout Oregon & SW Washington. Angela has also been a motivational speaker in high schools; taught communication and leadership courses to adults; coached teachers and executives; and is the founder of a creative agency that provided nonprofits and small businesses with marketing and graphic design support.

After two years of full-time international travel and world schooling, Angela and her family returned to the Pacific Northwest in 2021 — choosing to make their home on San Juan Island.
