Paul Freedman

Paul Freedman is the father of two Spring Street alumni, Quinn ‘15 and Emma ‘19. He has been an elementary classroom teacher for 27 years and is the co-Founder and Head of School at The Salmonberry School on Orcas Island. Paul serves on the faculty of Antioch University and TIES (The Institute for Educational Studies) where he also serves as the Assistant Academic Dean and the Director of the Integrative Learning MEd degree. He is the co-Founding Director of the Holistic Education Initiative. He is the co-Executive Editor of “The Holistic Educator” newsletter and was previously a Contributing Editor for Encounter: Education for Meaning and Social Justice. Paul has been a passionate advocate and spokesperson for progressive and relationship-based education for many years.  Paul has served on several independent school boards. He is delighted to give back to Spring Street after nine years as a parent in this community.
