Art is standing with one hand extended into the universe and one hand extended into the world and letting ourselves be a conduit for passing energy. -Albert Einstein

As a staff member of Spring Street International School since  2005, Taylor is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher who is passionate about enriching young lives through the study of visual arts. Born and raised in the beautiful Northwest, Taylor migrated to Northern California in 1982 in order to attend the Art Academy of San Francisco. During her classical art training, she was awarded the prestigious New York Society of Illustrators student award for her drawing skills. Upon graduating, Taylor worked as a freelance illustrator for a variety of clients including Hewlett Packard, Sunset, and Harcourt Brace Publishing, and has provided the illustrations for over 40 children’s books. After eighteen years of working in the field of illustration, Taylor began teaching in numerous school settings and through her private art studio. She has enjoyed sharing her knowledge with students ages 3-92. In addition to teaching, Taylor is an oil portrait artist whose commissions grace the walls of numerous homes, locally and nationally.
