For over twenty years, Heather’s primary investment as an educator has been partnering with students and families to provide them with pathways that edify and encourage success. The highlights of her career have come from collaborating with colleagues to promote a learning environment that is both meaningful and culturally relevant. Heather spent her formative years camping, hiking, and learning the importance of environmental conservation, as well as cultivating a profound respect for nature. A member of the Choctaw Nation, she is deeply passionate about protecting Indigenous rights and advocating for the Right of Return. An oil painter and award-winning artist since high school, Heather spends her spare time creating pieces for friends and clients across the nation. Heather and her husband, Brandon, are new to San Juan Island and are excited to establish a permanent home. Their kid is a freshman at Western Washington University, studying Behavioral Neuroscience and Forensics. Her family is thrilled for the outdoor adventures the Pacific Northwest offers.
