Scott Schwinge grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles and graduated in 1979 from Lewis and Clark College where he majored in Biology. He attended grad school at Washington State University from 1982-85 and took courses in education and a diversity of other departments. Scott earned an M.A. degree in 1985 in education, specializing in science education, and he taught middle and high school science for two years. Afterward, Scott worked for two decades of energy consulting with architects. Starting in 1991, Scott accepted employment at UW Friday Harbor Labs and retired as Administrator in 2016. His two boys, Devon and Grant, both graduated from Spring Street.
