Renee and her organization work with governments, universities, international donors, and women’s organizations advising them on legislative changes necessary so that women have control over the land they use and the production from that land. Empowered women can change the world. Renee also is an affiliate professor at the University of Washington School of Law, teaching a class in Legal Problems of Economic Development in the LL.M program. Her daughter, Isabella, attended Spring Street for high school, and it made a big difference in her view of learning and of the world. Renee and her husband, David, live on San Juan Island.
