Parents and Volunteering

The School both welcomes and depends upon active participation by its students' parents in their program. As a small school operating on a limited budget, it is necessary for parents to assist with a variety of roles, Volunteer Parentsfrom participation in field trips, to assistance in the classroom, with repairs and maintenance, and with fundraising activities.

It is expected that parents contribute at least 25 hours of their time each year to the school program, in addition to attending both required parent meetings each year. In the interests of equity, parents who are unable to contribute 25 hours of time are expected to contribute $15/HR for hours not worked (maximum $375).  It is our experience that these kinds of participation benefit the whole community in a variety of ways.

While we have always been fortunate enough to have a parent body that is very involved and invested in the school, we are in the process of creating a new approach to the idea of a Parent’s Association and will be developing such ideas this fall.
