More About Admissions:
Admissions Process
There are many things to take into account in choosing a school, but the most important by far is how it will fit with your child’s needs. School is a critical social and emotional environment for your child’s formative
years. Spring Street International School is committed to maintaining an inclusive community that welcomes students and families of all ethnic, economic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
We welcome the opportunity to meet and talk with you about Spring Street International School. We offer multiple ways to discover more about our school: Open House meetings, private appointments and school visits.
We strive to achieve a gender balance, as well as a diversity of personalities and interests. Because of our small class sizes, we are also able to support significant diversity in the learning styles of our student body.
When evaluating a student for admission, we consider:
- Social skills
- Math and reading skills
- Language development
- Current teacher's recommendation
- Observations during the student's visit
- Parental understanding of and support for Spring Street's mission
The admission process consists of three essential steps:
- Schedule A Visit and Tour – contact Jerry Riley in the Admissions Office (360 378-6393 or jriley@springstreet.org) to schedule a parent visit and school tour. The visit will give you a chance to learn about the school, and it gives us a chance to learn about your educational needs and a student's special interests.
- Campus Visit – This is a half- or full-day visit during which the prospective student attends regular classes and school activities with a "host buddy" student guide. This allows the student to see what life is like at Spring Street, and gives our staff a chance to meet and learn about him or her. Student visits are required of all U.S.-based families applying to the school.
The campus visit will include a brief student interview with our Head of School, Louis O'Prussack and our Admissions Director Jerry Riley. - Complete the Application Packet – Return application documents with a $500 deposit. The packet includes personal information, background answers to learn more about the prospective family and forms for transferring student records.
Financial aid is available and involves a separate application process in addition to the application to the school. Director of Admissions/Business Jerry Riley can help guide you through this. Scholarships also are available to families in need of assistance.
On acceptance, you arrange a tuition payment plan. Options include payment monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. All payment schedules other than annual are handled through Tuition Management Services and incur a small sign-up fee. Please note that Spring Street International School accepts credit cards, but additional fees apply.
Please also see our information about the application schedule and tuitions/fees and application documents.
Spring Street International School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national and ethnic origin or sexual preference in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
