Spring Street International School, founded in 1995, has amassed an impressive academic record, placing 95% of all graduates in their first-choice colleges. It has established itself as a premier college prep school of the U.S. Pacific Northwest.
Our school is an extraordinary educational opportunity in a family atmosphere and an idyllic setting – the beautiful San Juan Islands, only 70 miles north of Seattle. It is a very safe, peaceful place to study and prepare for success in the finest universities in our country. We are located in the center of a triangle formed by Victoria, B.C., Vancouver B.C. and Seattle WA. Located in Friday Harbor, Washington, approximately two-thirds of students come from San Juan Island while others commute from Orcas, Shaw and Lopez Islands. Our boarding students stay in our student residence in Friday Harbor.
The keys to our success are inspirational teachers and small classes, allowing individualized instruction and fostering swift academic and personal growth and readiness for university studies.

It is free to select its own goals, curricula, teachers and students in the pursuit of providing an extraordinary education.
The school seeks to promote a balance for students between an intensive academic program and experiential education, including field trips, wilderness experiences and an overseas program. The student to teacher ratio averages less than 8 to 1. We cover grades 6-12 and have approximately 70 students. Most importantly, we are that special school parents are looking for: exceptional academics blended with personal attention and caring, mentoring teachers.
